TALLAHASSEE, FL - On Friday August 27, 2010 the recruits reported for duty at Rayn Ultra Lounge's "Basic Training: Roll Call” event. Dressed for battle in their military BDUs, the cadets invaded the dance floor for a night of callisthenic training as DJ Joshua Bula spun his music and kept them moving to the beat. Meanwhile, the bartenders and shooter girls ensured they were well hydrated during this intense physical training (dancing and socializing).

MOBILE, AL – GT managed to attend just one day (Saturday) of the second annual Bleather II weekend event held in historic Mobile, AL on August 6th – 8th, 2010. Combining the leather and bear community, Bleather weekend was chock full of great food, friends, pageantry and drag queens.

MINNESOTA - Last July the Target Corporation donated $150,000 to an organization that helped fund campaign ads for the MN Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer, who has been linked to anti-gay groups. As of last week 260,000 people have pledged to boycott Target.

TALLAHASSEE - Friday June 18 2010, Rayn Ultra Lounge held Beach Ball II: "Chicken of the Sea" benefiting Big Bend Cares. The night kicked off with an wonderful drag contest hosted by Dusty Navel-Lindt and Pussy Willows. As the night passed on, the club continued filling up with folks showing off their best beach attire. Tallahassee's resident DJ Josh Bula kept the beat alive all night long as the club danced the night away, and all for a good cause. Enjoy our photos from this fun filled evening.

TALLAHASSEE - Located in Rail Road Square, The Mickee Faust Club (TMFC) is one of the best lesser-known gems that Tallahassee has packed away awaiting your enjoyment. Founded by Terry Galloway, playing the lead character Mickee Faust, this non-profit theatre troop’s first show was in October, 1987 and has been turning out amazingly weird productions ever sense. Combining live theater, singing, dancing, spoken word and video within their productions, the troop is known for their uncanny ability...

PANAMA CITY BEACH - Just a quick two hours west of Tallahassee, the white sands and emerald waters of Panama City Beach played host to the 2010 Emerald Coast Pride Festival. We met friendly PCB locals and folks from all over the region who made the trip to have fun and support this year's festival.

PENSACOLA - Pensacola turned it out once again for the 20th annual Memorial Day Weekend. The Gay Gods once again blessed us this year with a beautiful beach, hot bodies and wild parties. We all played the days and nights away with not a care in the world! 2010 on Pensacola Beach was truly sunshine, lolly-pops and rainbows!

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - The first family has arrived Panama City Beach. It appears that after facing pressure from the press corps he’s has gone shirtless while enjoying a swim with Sasha. Photographs were not allowed (other than this official WH photo) and there have been no reports of paparazzi obtaining the coveted "shirtless Obama" photo.

Leon County Commission Adopts Domestic Partner Benefits for Its Employees

TALLAHASSEE - On the eventing of July 13th, 2010, the Leon County Commission expanded its employee health benefits to cover domestic partners of county employees. The unamimous vote was part of a motion amending their proposed annual budget.

MIAMI - Route 7 Productions, based out of Miami FL, is currently producing a documentary about this situation and would like to use any media that you may have. They are looking for any footage (photos or video) of the anti-gay protesters who were in the Pensacola area this past Memorial Day weekend.

TALLAHASSEE -Jennifer Owen, a FSU medical student, is currently researching the LGBT community’s perceptions regarding Tallahassee healthcare. With this study Jennifer hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how sexual orientation and/or gender identity can influence individual perceptions and experiences in healthcare.
